Quote freely, with a link

You may quote a number, a line or a short passage from usedby in an article, a report, a deck or an answer, without asking. Each time, link to the usedby page it comes from: the HTML page, not its .md version.

The usedby database is the selection and arrangement of its lines, their proof levels and their sources. Without our written consent, you may not:

  • copy or download a large part of the database, by hand or with a script;
  • scrape the site: read the pages, the .md versions, /llms.txt or /api/search automatically to collect the data;
  • rebuild, publish or sell a dataset, a list or a database made from usedby.

Automated reading above our limits is blocked without notice.

Search engines and AI assistants

Search engines and AI assistants that follow our robots.txt may read the pages to index them and to cite them with a link. This does not allow them to copy the database in bulk for another purpose.
